Who's Online is incorrect

When going to Who's Online it's showing all the members are viewing a thread however they aren't viewing that particular thread.

What would be the reason this is happening, why that particular thread and how can I fix it?

How do you know? And what is your session timeout set to?

Because it shows everyone viewing it and I've asked people about it. The thread is a really dumb one with few replies. I then moved it to the Admin area and it shows everyone viewing it when the stop sign/no permission message. I've asked them and they just aren't in the thread.

Is session time out the same as auto refresh? If so it's set to 0.

I deleted the thread awhile ago and now it just shows everyone viewing an attachment (probably the one in that thread) with an error message???

You cannot set the session timeout to '0'. That is the likely cause of this.

Time period in seconds to refresh the Who's Online display.

A value of 0 disables the auto-refresh.


I don't understand why it would be a problem now when no changes have been made and it's always worked before. Weird.

That is not the session timeout. This is:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Cookies and HTTP Header Options -> Session Timeout

However by disabling auto-refresh this will not be updated unless you manually reload the page.

I've seen this happen due to a modification. Try disabling your plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

The session time out says: 900 right now. What should I set it too?

I forgot I did just change the skin a few days ago. I'll be changing it back after the holidays anyways.
