How to remove online status icon

Hi,

In my forum, I want to remove the online status icon showing that the member is online/offline from my forum to give all the members more privacy. I get to postbit_onlinestatus and found the icons over there, is it possible to delete the whole contents of the postbit_onlinestatus and this will take off the online status icon without causing problems to my forum?

Or what is the appropriate solution?

I think you can just look for $post[onlinestatus] in the postbit templates and remove it.

I have removed $post[onlinestatus] from the following templates:

postbit
postbit_legacy

And the online status icon disappeared and things looks just great, which is what I am looking for actually.
Just to ensure that what I did is correct, what I did exactly is just deleting the ($post[onlinestatus]) code only and saved the templates. Is what I did safe? And was it what you recommended?

An easy solution is just replace those icons with clear.gif.
