As of this time, my VBulletin website has received approximately 606 fraudulant registration attempts. I have been banning them as fast as they come in hoping "they" would get bored, but that doesn't seem to be stopping the problem. We are getting approximately 10-15 per hour. Many of the emails provided are not working (I am getting many bounces on the email confirmation letter).
They all have common denominators: URLs for sex, porn, adult, teen, medications, etc. The majority are coming through gmail, gawab and httpza mail servers. The time zones for the registrants are mostly in Russia.
I have been told it may be spam bots (of all things ... grrrr). It has also been suggested by a techy friend that I modify the captcha:
I don't even know where the registration form is located.
I am asking if there is anything I can do within Vbulletin that will resolve this problem. Please understand that I inherited the VBulletin programming for my website and do not speak php. Step-by-step instructions would be so helpful.

it looks like you have a Captcha on that page, but it is either being brute-forced or broken. A good start would be to try altering the captcha. A few ideas:
- More letters
- Different fronts for the letters
- A math problem to solve. If you look at https://www.anthrocon.org/user/register, you'll see what I mean.
- A "pick the nth word from this list of words and type it in" test.
- Presenting one of the above at random.
