    Replacement variables not working

I am trying to offer a different set of smilies for my users depending on which template style they have chosen. I have found the solution on these forums suggesting to use Replacement Variables, and rewriting the path to the folder where the smiley GIFs are located at output time.

I am pretty sure that I did everything correctly (it's not brain surgery), but nothing is getting replaced at all. When I switch to the style which has Replacement variables and view the source, it's still the same path (and needless to say, the smilies are the same, too).

This is running vB 3.6.10 PL3.

Do Replacement Variables require some specific server/php plugin in order to work, or could it be because I am using a parent & child as templates, or any other ideas?

    Thanks!

Sorry, there is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

Errr. hello? I am talking about the Replacement Variables not working. Those are a vB core function, no?

Based on what you have posted I do not believe you can change smilies based on template style with replacement variables. Did I misunderstand what you are asking?

No, you didn't. It was me who misunderstood what you were saying, thanks.
