Possible to make subscriptions to parent forums subscribe you to the child forums?

Hello,

I am working on a forum which has parent forums (for example "East Coast"), with plenty of child forums beneath it (every state in the easy coast). I would like to make it so that when a user subscribes to posts in the 'east coast' parent forum, that user will also be subscribed to all of the child forums.

Is this possible through vB's default features? If it would require a hack or plugin, would it be complex?

Sorry, there is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.
