Who's Online confusion

I'd like to know how this is happening...

Every once in awhile, we get a bump in a thread's activity due to a linkback, Stumble, etc...That's understood...

But this one has me perplexed...

Guests are coming to an inparticular thread, but the guests are all trying to respond to the thread at the same time, making me believe it's some sort of bot execution...

Anyone have an explanation?

Well, may be there is a link somewhere to New Reply page of that thread. Even if it is a spambot there is nothing to worry about...

Oh I'm not worried at all...

I'm just looking for more information as to what exactly is happening...maybe I could even use it to my advantage somehow...
