Whenever I try to delete all posts by a member and ban him i get "Invalid Usergroup Specified"

Do you have a banned group with this permission set to No?
Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit Usergroup -> This Usergroup is not a 'Banned' Group (at the very bottom)
You need to specify a banned group in this way before you can ban people.
