    subscription to last longer

    When some one posts a thread, they are automatically subscribed to it right? (they receive an email when some one replies to it)

    after a certain amount of time this subscription seems to die off.

    How can i make this subscription last longer? Or even make it permanent?

    They will only receive one email until the next time they log into the forum.

      That is an opt-in choice at the time of posting. You can set the default for new registrations in your:

      Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> User Registration Options -> Default Registration Options

      You can mass update the preferences of exsiting users in your:

      Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Execute SQL Query

      There is a menu with predefined queries. You must have permission to execute queries in your includes/config.php file:

      Code:
      	//	****** USERS WITH QUERY RUNNING PERMISSIONS ******
      	//	The users specified here will be allowed to run queries from the control panel.
      	//	See the above entries for more information on the format.
      	//	Please note that the ability to run queries is quite powerful. You may wish
      	//	to remove all user IDs from this list for security reasons.
      $config['SpecialUsers']['canrunqueries'] = '';

      Thread subscriptions are permanent.
