? regarding meta keywords and meta description..

Am I correct by saying that what I write in meta description is what will be the text under my site name in say a google search and meta keywords are keywords that help the search engines find my site?

yes. SEO is a little more complicated than that, but that's a good start.

Google will do a "first crawl" to your site, and only list the url and anything you have in the description. In a second crawl it might actually list page contents and not your description. That first and second crawl can be separated by days, weeks, or months.

Keep in mind that you do not over use, repeat or have meaningless descriptions or keywords; googles tends to frown on that. You can google or post a question, if allowed in over at http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/

That was just a posting that happens to be displaying right now. Try this link.

Content is the key to success and some cheat by using other methods, but in the end it means nothing.
