Hiding a section from those without access.

I have a section of my forum that should only be able to be seen by one usergroup. I add them to that group manually based on info entered at registration.

IOW, the section should be hidded from the public and anyone who isn't in that one usergroup.

I tested it before opening but something has happened and the public can browse that entire forum section.

Any ideas on what I'm missing in permissions or some other AdminCP setting?

AdminCP > Forums & Moderators > Forum Permissions

For the forum that you only want that usergroup to be able to access, click on deny all then edit for the usergroup you want to have access and select use default permissions and save it.

I don't understand the last instruction.

If I edit the usergroup I want to have access and them select use default permissions and save it, doesn't it loses the permissions I just edited.

I undid select use default permissions and it's working now.

        One more follow up question.

Is there a way to show just the title banner of a hidden forum so those who don't have access can see it's there?
