Can't edit post, only with advanced editing

Hi, I have been having this issue for many vb versions.
When trying to edit a post and clicking to submit, it starts processing and takes forever and never finishes...I have to click advanced editing and then submit for it to work...
Is this a well known problem? Is there a solution?

    I am running vb 3.6.8

    Thanks

To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

[Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

    Next, disable all plugins.

Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

I don't know if this is helpful or not but I've experienced this issue since vB introduced AJAX with edit and quick reply.

This problem occurs on a heavily modified install of vBulletin (3.6.8) AND on an out of the box install (3.6.7) and have been told previously that it is an issue with how AJAX is interacting with your browser at the time as it is intermittent.

Disabling 'problematic AJAX' from within the admincp helps, but not ideal... I've told my users to bear with it and hope for the best.

Will watch this with interest to see if any progress has been made since when I first mentioned it!

Not yet, I need to find some time to do it.
I am just trying to figure out if these instructions are a generic troubleshooting process, or if this known to most likely fix the problem?

            Thanks

I have the same problem here and running 3.6.8 patchlevel 2. I did the check and found 1 file that is not regoniced: cpnav_impex.xml ???
and offcourse 2 files that say patchlevel 2.

I don't have any plugin running.

I was going to until I installed the other license and saw it still happened on a clean install with no modifications.

Hopefully the migration to Yahoo AJAX libraries in 3.7 fixes it... That's what I'm hoping for anyway!
