Image resize in post?

Hey, I'm wondering about the insert image tool in the vBulletin WYSIWYG editor.

When I insert an image into a post, I cannot resize that image, eg make it smaller to fit the thread better.

Is this an error, or do I need to enable it somewhere or...?

There is no resize option for IMG tags. That requires that HTML be enabled which is not recommended. If you upload the image as a post attachment then you have some control over the size with thumbnails and dimension limits + auto-resizing.
