Not receiving email notifications?

I have recently set up a paid subscription area on a forum and i am using access masks to control their permissions. One of the users has Instant email notification for new threads set up in her userCP, but since she paid she is not longer receiving the notifications.

could it be the access mask?

No, access masks would have nothing to do with this. The emails are likely being blocked by her spam filters.
