I've got a user who is having a problem with private messages that they have sent to another particular user. They say that when they attempt to read the messages in their Sent Items folder, they are returned nothing but a blank white page. They can still download all of their PM's (as a TXT file, for example) and can still see the text they contain so we know that the messages still exist within the database. I want to stress that they are only receiving the blank white page when trying to view messages that they have sent to one single other user in particular - all of their other sent messages show up just fine. Is there anything that can explain this? I'm stumped.
User reports blank pages when viewing certain PM's?

Try adding these lines to your includes/config.php file:
Code:ini_set('display_errors', true); ini_set('display_startup_errors', true);
1) Repair your database:
Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Repair / Optimize Tables
2) Disable plugins:
3) Upload the original PHP files. This might not be necessary if the file check is clean:
Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions
If you continue to have problems then please submit a trouble ticket with your forum and server info:

Hey Jake, thanks for taking a look at my problem. The following errors were displayed after enabling error reporting in config.php:
Warning: array_search() [function.array-search]: Wrong datatype for second argument in /private.php(1727) : eval()'d code on line 13
Fatal error: Cannot unset string offsets in /path/to/site/public_html/forum/private.php(1727) : eval()'d code on line 14Comment

This error is from a plugin you've installed. It looks like you didn't follow all of Jake's instructions.Steve Machol, former vBulletin Customer Support Manager (and NOT retired!)

I was following Jake's conditional statement that "If no errors are reported then we need to systematically trouble the problem." Since errors were reported, I thought I would pass those along before continuing with the next steps. I am going to disable the plugins and see if the errors continue.Comment

That error indicates a code problem, so you should try disabling plugins and uploading the original files anyways.Comment
