How do I change the "quote" bbcode background color?

I recently changed my template to use a dark background color with light font. The background color doesn't seem to carry over when a user quotes another user on the board.

I've tried changing things in Style Manager -> CurrentStyle -> edit templates -> BBCode Layout Templates -> bbcode_quote

But changes there don't seem to have a major impact on anything. Am I missing something obvious?
