Does pruning members help with site load?

I have over 30,000 members, and just like most sites, most of those members are no longer active. I was going to prune most of them but I wanted to see what effect it would have. If there's no effect, then I'll just leave it and keep sending out mass emails to all the inactive ones (*evil grin* lol). If it will have an effect on my site load and help the site load quicker, then I'll just delete them.

So the question is, will it help to prune the members or not?

    Thanks

It will provide little to no effect on every day site loads. Pruning them will decrease the size of your user tables and may provide very slight optimizations on some queries, like member search, but not won't really help overall loads which are determined by active users and their activity on the site.
