I have been getting countless database errors over the past week (I have made no changes in months to anything in the control panel). My fellow staff members and I are having difficulty viewing certain areas of the forum, as well as any of the member’s profiles and certain areas in the control panel and my email box is overloaded with error messages.
A sample of the database error I get when trying to view a members profile is as follows…
Database error in vBulletin 3.6.5:
Invalid SQL:
SELECT pf.profilefieldid, pf.profilefieldcategoryid, pf.required, pf.type, pf.data, pf.def, pf.height
FROM profilefield AS pf
LEFT JOIN profilefieldcategory AS pfc ON(pfc.profilefieldcategoryid = pf.profilefieldcategoryid)
WHERE pf.form = 0
ORDER BY pfc.displayorder, pf.displayorder;
MySQL Error : Table 'xxx_xxx.profilefieldcategory' doesn't exist
Error Number : 1146

In an attempt to fix this I logged onto vBulletins support and found there was a new upgrade. Hoping this would fix the problem I have tried to upgrade to the newest version but am not having any luck.
I downloaded the upgrade, extracted the files, renamed the upload folder as needed, deleted the install/install.php and proceeded to upload the upgrade using Smart FTP, but it fails part way through giving the error message…
“A connection attempt failed because the connected did not properly respond after a period of time. Or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond”
Call me dense if you will but why all of the sudden am I getting all these data base errors and so far as the upgrade…what am I doing wrong here?
