help with user profile field option

Alright heres what I am trying to do. I have created a new user profile field, by the name of Favorite Player. As of now it is only viewable on their profile page.

However, I have seen on different forums that they have this field also displayed in the threads under the post counts and locations. How can i do this??

$post[fieldx] x being the variable[ID] for the profile field you set up possibly add <if> conditions as well, to only appear for users who have the profile value filled.
