    Forums in IE! HELP!

    There's a few things I need to fix about my forums in IE.

    First, when your in a forum room the thread titles all show up "centered" instead of to the left. (which is how me and all my members like it)

    Second, there's a problem where my users can't click on the text box for replying to PM's, threads, etc. It's like you click where you want to type and it does nothing but show an hour glass for half a second.

    Please tell me what may have caused this and how to fix it.

    Thank you for your time.

    First, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version:

    Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

    [Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

    Next, disable all plugins.

    Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

    Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

    Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

      The problem is I have a custom skin for my site and I don't want to lose it, or anything added to it. I'm sorry I didn't mention that.

      Is there anything else I can try without messing up the current style? The fact that you can't click in a text box is more important than the thread display.

        Nothing I suggest will affect your custom style. However this is almost certainly a problem with that style.

          Yup, it is. I just tried a different style in IE. I guess I'm going to have to dig through the style codes to fix this?

            In most cases this is due to a <center> or <div align="center"> that has not been closed, usually in the header or navbar but could be in any template.
