Posting Error - Blank Post (Resubmit)

This is a strange error that randomly started happening. I have disabled all plugins and the problem still occurs.

When I create quite a lenghty post (about 10000+ characters long) the post appears completely blank. But if I create a shorter post all text is visable. Even when I edit a post to make it longer, the post will go just turn completely empty. I have also tried merging posts and still it goes blank.

I don't get any error messages or anything.

I have checked to see if there is a character limit set or any other options that might have been causing this - there isn't.

PS. why was I able to start a thread previously when apparently my vBulletin was not assigned with this username?

This may be due to mod_security.

While mod_security can be a very powerful tool, misconfigured or overly strict rule sets can interfere with vBulletins Operation. Below for Apache users you can use an htaccess file and add a specific rule to disable mod_security.

Make or edit your forum .htaccess file and add the following code

<IfModule mod_security.c>
   SecFilterEngine Off
   SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>

Note, place this file in your main forum directory.

I tried this method but with no success... I am still having the same problem...

I'm currently running vBulletin version 3.6.2 - do you think upgrading to the latest version will help?
