Can I do this? Restore old VB DB + upload new files w/o import??

I have an old vb database (last backed up in January of last year) I'd like to use as the base database for my new vb installation (3.6.7). I'm not sure what version it was, but probably one of the latest available around that time. Can I just restore the DB and reference it in the config.php file while uploading all the new VB files? Do I need to run the install script or should it just work?

Or do I need to set up a new DB and do an Impex import?

YOu would need to run the upgrade.php script to make sure the database structure is updated properly.

The database structure can change between versions.

A vBulletin 3.5.x database with vBulletin 3.6.x files would be very bad indeed and result in data loss and numerous database errors.

So upload all the files and run blahblah.com/install/upgrade.php?
        Correct.
