For background, you can reference this thread posted by another user:
My issue is very straight forward. I am trying to setup an RSS Feed from eBay. This is the URL of the feed that I am attempting to configure:
As you can see, the URL is very long at 362 characters.
When I first configure it and hit Preview Feed, the preview looks fine, and shows me an appropriate list of eBay products. So then I click Save.
When then try to run the RSS Feed (either manually or at the automatic scheduled time), I either see "Please complete both the subject and message fields" or "Please specify a query! (9003)", and the RSS Feed fails to produce results.
When I use the RSS Feed Manager and click on Edit, it's very clear that vBulletin has truncated the URL in the "URL of Feed" field. This is the URL that was saved:
This URL is exactly 250 characters. Thus, there is clearly a limit of 250 characters on the field "URL of Feed".
My questions are:
1. Can this be considered a bug/limitation of vBulletin that should be addressed?
2. Is there an easy way for me to configure a higher number.
3. If not, can you please provide a clue as to what file(s) I might be able to look at the change it? I realize that vBulletin cannot support code modifications, but if I had a couple of clues, I may be able to figure it out.
Any help (either official or unofficial) would be appreciated.
