No, it's the name of the database in which you will be installing vB. Here is our online documentation for creating a new database and db user:

what do i need to save a php file as in order for it to remain a php file?? cause if i save it as text it loses stuff right? so what do i save it as?? it doesnt let me save as all types or php so im confusedreal name no gimmicks.Comment

im confused on these. i called my host and they werent too sure either. they said for me to use my username and pw for when i access my account with them. like the one i use to get to cpanel and stuff but that doesnt seem right. does it? i thought this would have to do with the database i just created? or are those 2 different things?real name no gimmicks.Comment

It does not matter, you can upload and edit file from host cPanel - File Manager. I have the same cPanel as you have here..
User: demo
Password: demo
You could of ask vBulletin to Professionally install this for you and it would have been quite fast with correct information.Comment
