Is there a way to resend the confirmation email to a subcriber?

Do you mean the activation email? They can use this link to get the activation email again:

can't we send the verification code manually from Admin Panel to a particular user, or a list of users filtered by some criteria.

Goes a little against the whole idea of email confirmation though but still in cases where the Administrator knows the user and his email is genuine, this could be a nice feature..

Yes, there is an Admin CP option in the user's profile under Quick User Links to resend this.

You can also send a mass email to the 'Users Awaiting' group and use $activatelink in the body of the message.

Admin CP -> Users -> Send Email to Users

Make sure you only choose the Users Awaiting group.

I just put this link in the footer

That way the user can just click it to get there email again.

That will only confuse your regular members.
