    RSS character problem.

    Hello,

I'm having a problem publishing RSS Feeds in Vietnamese. The feed is located here:

VnExpress tin tức mới nhất - Thông tin nhanh & chính xác được cập nhật hàng giờ. Đọc báo tin tức online Việt Nam & Thế giới nóng nhất trong ngày về thể thao, thời sự, pháp luật, kinh doanh,...

If you view it in FF there's nothing wrong. However the XML file contains NCR decimal characters, from then they are parsed by the vb rss module and display incorrect characters. Please refer the attachment image. You can easily see the incorrections.

I've been trying to use a function to convert from NCR to unicode so that it would work but have gotten no luck so far.

    Please advise.

    Thanks.

These characters will only display correctly if you have iconv installed as part of PHP on your server. You can check to see if this is available by looking in your PHP Info file for a section headed iconv. If this is not available then you will need to contact your host about it.

I've read this in this forum but wasn't sure it's the same as my prob.
Will get this install and let you know.

      Thanks for your support, Lady.

        Hello there.

I've installed Iconv on my server and it does not solve anything.

        this is iconv info:

        iconv support enabled
        iconv implementation glibc
        iconv library version 2.3.4

There's nothing changed, the character still displayed incorrectly.

        Please advise.

Enable phpinfo in the Admin CP, then provide the URL to your forums. This may help us troubleshoot this problem.

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Server Settings and Optimization Options -> Public phpinfo() Display Enabled

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

Thanks. I don't see anything there that isn't right. What HTML Character Set do you have set in your language settings? Have you tried: UTF-8

Yes, I've been always using UTF-8. Perhaps the preview may be incorrect but the real one would be ? I didn't publish the feed on my site yet since the feed displays strange characters even in the preview page.

It just may be that this feed's character set is not compatible with vB 3.6.5.

sad news to me. I desire a working solution for this even by changing the code.

You can try reporting this in the 3.6 Bug Tracker here:
