Error after entering customer number

This is pretty sad really... I can't even get past entering the customer number so i can do the actual install. What happens is... I enter my customer number and click the "Enter Install System" button and it spits out this error...

then says my customer number was entered successfully and redirects straight back to the same page to enter my number again. I've checked and rechecked the number and it's correct... and i'm sure i'm using my customer number and not my license number.

What's the deal? Any idea? thanks in advance.

I've run the test script and everything checks out fine. only failure was the magic_quotes_gpc in recommended settings... which I doubt has any significance anyway. Any help is appreciated.

Try reuploading all the files in ./install/ directory in ASCII mode.

just did that and i'm still getting the same result... support had me reupload every single vb file a while ago... did that too... same result.

Probably re-upload the files, making sure they are uploaded in ASCII format and/or make sure that the config.php file does not have any errors.

I've reupped them about four times now, ASCII every time. The config.php is a brand new copy of the example config.php.new. I can try that one more time though.

Edit: Sheesh. Ok, I went back and started with upgrade.php instead of trying to be "smart" and starting with upgrade_3011.php. It's going ok...for now.

You should never go directly to an upgrade step unless adviced by vB support. Always run upgrade.php.

Yeah...it's been a while since I've run an upgrade so I couldn't remember if it was running upgrade.php first or going directly to the one I needed.

That's what I get for not reading the docs.
