    'max_user_connections' error

I've got a board with 20.000 members, 400.000 posts, and about 300 simultaneous users. The board has wored perfectly until today, when everything is slow and the "Database error in vBulletin, max_user_connection reached" message appears.

My db use to have around 2-6 connections from vB, but today it tries to connect with 50-60 connections. (The max_user_connection limit is set to 50).

    In config.php i have:
    PHP Code:
    $config['MasterServer']['usepconnect'] = 0
How many connections is "normal" for a board like mine?
Why is the difference between yesterday and today so huge?

    /M

That could quickly go up to 200-300 connections.

I have just closed the board, but there are still 10 - 15 connections from vB.

Even with the board closed, you can have connections. If a user try to browse your site, the database must be read in order to know the board is closed.
