Problem with unseen last pages in threads

We are currently using version 3.6.4.

We often face problems in some threads, when users post a reply that cause to add a new page to a thread but the last page can not be seen. When this occurs, and when we try to go to the last post or last page of the thread, we can not reach it and come up with the previous page instead (ie. if there should be 7 pages in the thread, page is opened in 6th page.).

Please note that:

1. When this happens, the link to the last page remains, but can not be reached.
2. It happens mostly when there are multiple posts in the thread and in the previous page.

We manage to solve these problems by deleting the multiple posts (mentioned above) or adding a new reply to thread (in most cases it happens when there is only 1 reply in the last page).

But we want to know the cause of this problem and if any way of preventing it to be occurring.

First, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

Next, disable all plugins.

Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?
