mark this forum as read

i have the "mark forums read" on my forums home page, but i want to know where can it be enabled from to be within each specific forum, how can this be done?

in other words, i want to find "Mark this forum read" within the vb options.

also the one on the main page, i will feel better if i am able to enable/disable it.

It should be under Forum Tools when you're viewing a forum.

it is not there, there is just no border where the user can click on "mark forum as read" i want to know from where in the admincp can i enable this feature in both the forums main page, and in a specific forum?

There is no option to turn this on or off. It's part of vB by default. If it's not there then it's because you made a modification that removed it.

Try this. Create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

i think there is a misunderstanding, it is there, but the problem is, it marks ALL the forums as read, for example my forums has "i want to sell - section" when a user is browsing this section and clicks on "Mark Forums Read" from the quick link, it takes him back to the forums main page, and mark all the sections of the forums read "i want to sell - READ" "i want to buy -READ" "i want to trade - READ", which is the "Mark forums Read" in the forums main page is doing.

is there a way to make it section specific?!

p.s:
new style had the exact same features as my style, so i guess it is not something i edited, will check with my friend though who was responsible for the forums design, but till then i think the misunderstanding is cleared now if someone has something to add.

There is no misunderstanding. My previous post is still correct.

If it's not the style, then it's some other change you made. The default vB should work exactly as it does here, and this forum does have that option available.

First, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Version' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

Next, disable all plugins.

Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
