I just uploaded all the vbulletin stuff and i go to the install directory and nothing happens its just a blank page

I myself am having this exact problem when updating one of my sites.
I have checked the permissions on all of the files and they are set correctly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, my host crashed my VPS and i had to restart.
I'm waiting to install PHP 5.6+ so have to install VB 5.1.6 PL5 which suits my 5.3 PHP

I've tried to follow the instructions to install vBulletin 5.0.4 twice now. When I try to run the install.php script it just gives me a blank page.
The site is hosted by Dreamhost. MySQL version... -
I installed the latest version - the install went fine without a flaw - checked details - everything is ok. But after install their is nothing but a blank screen. Any ideas on whats going on?
