When using Japanese (or other double byte characters) characters, in UTF-8 mode only, the text wrap setting (Number of Characters Before Wrapping Text) is breaking the characters when it tries to add a space. Instead of just adding a space, it breaks the characters and makes question marks.
Here are some example posts to show the problem at vBulletin.com:
In the first post, you can see that a character is missing where each space is and two question marks are also added.
If you look at post number five, it is not breaking the characters. That post was made with the forum language set to English. The problem seems to only happen when you post with the forum language set to UTF-8.
For some reason, the feature seems to have some problem with breaking long lines with double byte characters in UTF-8. Can someone take a look and see if there is a solution? Thank you.
