    phpMyAdmin DB backup - settings

    im changing hosts, have a small DB. I know how to export but there are so many settings i can choose from. Can someone select the most optimal settings... and i cant use SSH, that's one of the reasons im changing hosts...

    database is very small so i wont have a timeout problems

    The default export settings should be fine. Just make sure you get both structure and data, as well as the autoincrement values.

      should i use compression when saving? under structure do i select ADD DROP TABLE, ADD IF NOT EXISTS??

        Compression doesn't matter. Just uncompress it afterwards.

        The DROP TABLE options don't matter if you are restoring to an empty database. The same goes for IF NOT EXISTS. I recommend an empty destination database anyways.

          is it possible to restore in an empty database using phpmyadmin? if so you know how?

            Yes. Click the Import tab in phpmyadmin.
