I have an animated avatar (.gif) that I want to use. I'm able to upload it no problem and the image is present, but does not perform its animated design. Is there an area in the admincp that I need to set to allow for animated gif's?

This is a usergroup setting. Check your usergroup permissions.Steve Machol, former vBulletin Customer Support Manager (and NOT retired!)

I have this same problem. All of my usergroups allow for all three of the animated options, however it is not allowing the animation to display for newly uploaded files.
Files that existed previously (I imported from PNphpBB2) are animated. All new files are not animated.
However, something unusualy is happeneing. Someone replied and copied the avatar ("hey, cool avatar...) in the response ... the reply showed the animation in the avatar.Last edited by stonepilot; Sun 21 Jan '07, 10:39am.Comment

Are you uploading an image that is larger than the allowed size, causing it to be resized? If so, the image processor you are using probably doesn't support animated GIFs.Comment
