    Split Thread option gone

After recently upgrading to VBulletin 3.6.1 from 3.0.9 I noticed the split thread option in the thread tools is gone. Was it taken out of VBulletin or did something go awry when upgrading? It was a handy function and I would like to get it back if possible.

When viewing posts (at your forum), you'll notice a small checkbox against each post. If you activate one or more, you'll find a moderation dropdown at the bottom of the page. From there you can move/merge/split.

I see that but the split option still doesn't show up. All the other thread options are there except split.

Sorry, a move post to me is a split - depends on how you use it I guess.

In the version of Vbulletin I was using prior to the upgrade there was actually a split option that would allow you to split an existing thread into two threads. After the upgrade that option is gone.

I see. Thanks for the replies. I liked the old way of actually having the split option better. If you use it a lot like me and my mods do then this just creates extra steps the way I see it and its not nearly as intuitive. Oh well. Thanks again for the replies. I'll pass this on to the rest of the staff at my board.

Yes. personally, I preferred the old option too.

Having said that, when I first saw vBulletin 3.0.0, I preferred vBulletin 2.3.4 and said so publicly, and now I can't believe I actually said that!

I played with it and it just doesn't work like it did before. You have to specify an existing thread for it to work where as before it would split into a brand new thread in the forum you specified. I hate how it works now.

                      Um, no?

                      1. Select the posts you want in a new thread.
                      2. Hit Move in the dropdown box at the bottom.
                      3. Select the first option that clearly says "Move posts to a new thread"
                      4. Give the thread a subject.

                      And you're done.

Ok I see it now..I was looking at it wrong. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. I still like the old way better.
