    Usergroup HTML markup not updating

I am trying to give my moderators a different color on their user names. However this does not work. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

I use the following in the markup fields for that special group:

    <span style="color:#FF0000;"><b>

    </b></span>

No matter what I tried so far - it does not update the names of the group members.

Are these user primary members of that usergroup?

No, it is secondary. I also changed the setting in the user group so that it would overwrite the title/markup of the primary group. Still does not work.

Tested this a little more. The markup only works on the primary group, but not on a secondary even if the markup radio button choice in the usergroup settings is selected.

Make sure the primary usergroup is allowed to have secondary (member) groups.

            Colin,

I assume you are referring to this setting?

Allow Users to have Member Groups
That is set to "Yes" on the primary group?

Does it matter which group is primary? Can I switch groups around or will that cause permissions to get screwed up?

It shouldn't make too much of a difference.
Make sure that the users also have that usergroup set as the Displaygroup.

                That did the trick

                Thanks, Colin.

I have this exact same problem but I have 250 members in a secondary group (subscribers) and they have serveral different primary groups. How do I make the secondary show as their display group? I don't want to manually change it for 250 users. I just want to display the subscribers in a particualr font color but can't until I get this fixed. Shouldn't there me a setting in the usergroup for "set this user group as display group". Like if you are a member of that secondary usergroup it always shows as your display usergroup. Sorry for not starting my own thread but it fit so nicely with this one.

This query should allow you to do that:
                    UPDATE user SET displaygroupid = X WHERE membergroupids = X OR FIND_IN_SET('X', membergroupids);

Replace X with the usergroupid number of your subscriber usergroup.
                    Best Regards
