    Hardware

    Hi,

We have recently attempted to upgrade from v.2.2.8 to v.3.5 but the server hangs with CPU at 100% during peak traffic. After tweaking with mysql configuration and apache, the problem still wasn't resolved.

Right now, vBulletin is running on Dual XEON 2.40GHz with 1 GB of RAM
mysql is running on another server with similar hardware.

I was then advised by vBulletin that I need better hardware to run vbulletin v.3x. We have a maximum of ~1000 concurrent users in the past. What kind of hardware should I need?

    - CPU?
    - How much memory?
    - Disk specification?
    - Network card

I need more or less an official answer from vBulletin so that I can request such hardware and re-attempt the upgrade in the near future. Note that both the forums and database server will be running Windows 2000 Server.

Is this Anthony Chan? I believe I answered this question on the phone yesterday. See eva's post near the end of this thread:
