    To troubleshoot this, remove any hacks and disable your plugins, then see if you still have this problem.

    Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

    If so, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server.

    Next, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

          If you're using the default files, without code modifications or plugins, please open a support ticket, providing AdminCP and FTP login details, as well as a full description of the problem.

                    May I ask if everything happened suddently or after some event?
                    I did not touch anything except for a php update the day before.

                      It must be the php update from SuSE. We will send freddie a ftp and forumadmin login and see, what he can do and after that I think he will post the fix.

                        At this time you should shut your forums down until this issue can be fully investigated. This issue is bigger than just bbcode not working.

                        Create two test threads on your forum and then use inline moderation to merge them. If you lose the resulting thread then you know you are affected by this.

                        You can also try installing your own version of php rather than using the SUSE supplied version to see if the problem is rectified.

                          Ok, now my forums are working, I don't know exactly what happened, but I tried to install the PHP5 and I failed becouse I needed to upgrade apache to the 2.2 version too.
                          What's happened is that in the same time I deleted the PHP4 and then I installed back again from the DVD.

                          I checked right now and I see I got the apache2-mod_PHP4 and it's 4.4.0-6 version, the system is telling me to update to the 4.4.0-6.13 version (forget about it , that was the problem)
                          So, this module is the responsable one, try to rever that also by deleting all your php and installing again from the yast with your DVD/CD.

                          I hope this can help someone

                          P.S. Pardon me for my english, it's not so good.
