Usergroup promotions allow you to setup promotions, which will automatically move or add users to a usergroup
with different permissions after they have reached certain criterias.
To use this feature you'll first want to add a new usergroup, by going to your
AdminCP -> Usergroups -> Add New Usergroup
You can base it off of the normal usergroup by selecting 'Registered Users' from the dropdown field at the top, labelled
Create Usergroup Based off of Usergroup:
and click on Go.
Adjust the name of the new usergroup to something like 'verified members' or similiar, and set up the additional
options this usergroup should have (if any; see step 1 in examples below).
Next, set up the usergroup promotion by going to your
AdminCP -> Usergroups -> Promotions -> Add New Promotion
From the first dropdown field, labelled Usergroup, select 'Registered Users'.
Next, enter the criterias a user has to fulfill to be moved to the new usergroup (see step 2 in examples below).
It usually doesn't matter what you pick for Promotion Type, so I'd leave it set to 'Primary Usergroup.
Select the usergroup you added in the first step from the dropdown field labelled Move User to Usergroup.
Save the Promotion.
Finally, if needed, edit the 'Registered Users' usergroup, by going to your
AdminCP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager
and selecting Edit Usergroup from the dropdown field on the 'Registered Users' row and clicking Go.
There, disallow anything you don't want newly registered users to be allowed to do (see step 3 in examples below).
