Forum Collapsing

My forum is slowly going under with 404's. I checked my error log, and there was 300 errors in the last few hours, here is a sample:

I cannot login to Admin panel either.

To be honest, I can't imagine why a forum is collapsing because it can't find the favicon.

Can you confirm this image is not inside the public_html/ directory? If it isn't, please copy it to this directory.

404.shtml is not a vBulletin file.

What's the error you're getting with the admincp/ ?

I contacted my host , and it was fixed within minutes. Although I do not know what happened. Heavy traffic was present at the time
