need help with group settings

A made a joinable group on my site, when you join that group you get acces to a hidden sectionbut for some reason if the user is a member of other groups they cant see the hidden section
I have been tring to figer out the section setting forever but I cant get it to work.
Do you guys have any ideals how to get this to work right?

Make sure their Primary usergroup has 'Allow Users to have Member Groups ' set to 'Yes'. Otherwise secondary permissions are not considered.
