I've recently used ImpEx to bring in c. 18,000 posts from an old forum. The import itself has gone well. I'm left with a formatting issue on which I could use some assistance:
The importer took the first line (or so) of all posts on the old forum, and has used that text as the title for the posts in their new vB incarnations. The minor problem with this is that it looks unfortunate: half sentences / words taken as a title line. The major problem is that if the first line of the old post included any HTML code (e.g. <blockquote> tags), these cause problems with the title lines, at times throwing off the formatting of whole pages in the vB interface.
Is there some way to remove the title lines from all posts in all forums? I plan to use them in future, but since the forum at present consists entirely of the imported messages, it would be nice to strip all the titles from every post.
Any advice gratefully received.
