Authorization to the SMTP server failed

Having a hell of a time trying to get email working in vB. I have FC5 running qmail, and the mail is working fine otherwise. I can log into squirrel mail and send/recieve emails just fine.

When I try and do the diagnostic email sending, I get this message:

The mailing function returned an error while trying to send the mail. The following errors were outputted by PHP when attempting to send mail:

Warning: Authorization to the SMTP server failed in /includes/class_mail.php on line 519

Could someone please help me get this working? It would sure be appreciated!

That would mean that the smtp login details you specified in your vBulletin Options aren't correct.

Such a simple answer! jeez. For anyone else who was as dumb as me, and are using qmail with multiple domains, remember that your username for smtp auth needs to include [email protected].

Its working now.

you mean i have to add the password for and the settinge gmail stmp if i have google apps ??
