  • Problem with the character

In my forum there is a problem with the character. What happens is that whenever it is used, it gets combined with the character after it.

You can see this happening here
where the first post I typed " b c d" and the second "bcd".

But in Internet Explorer they appear as "b c d" and "cd" respectively, having the character I typed immediately the disapear. Yet, when I view the page source in Notepad, the second characters do appear, but the has turned into an uppercase (and not the different type of accent).

This does not seem to happen with any other accented characters.

My web server is giving Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8
and in the language settings of the admin CP the HTML Character Set is UTF-8
Internet Explorer is also set as UTF-8

    Another thread showing this problem

The character seems to work fine in this vBulletin forum. Can anyone say what I am doing wrong in mine?

Sorry, I have no idea. However since it works fine on these forums, here's the setting we are using:

      HTML Character Set : ISO-8859-1

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

I'm also having this problem and I can reproduce it on this board.

The solution for me was to remove characters from the Blank ASCII Character Striper in the Admin CP. ASCII character 160 is the character, and for some reason it was in there. So I removed it and all is well.
