AOL abusing about my registration mails (spam)

Hello, my provider told me, that AOL was abusing about my registration mails.

I've not stripped the URLs in the text, because i've heard, that AOL my abuse about them? Is anybody able to give me a hint, whats wrong?

I don't send mails via smtp. I don't use -f feature somewhere (read about this and topic spam). I don't have more ideas.

Do they complain about the English version of the email? You may have German words that are triggering the email as spam.

I don't know about what exactly AOL complains. My provider told me, that they've got this mail as complain. And it wasn't checked by AOL. So maybe it is because an AOL user clicked the "SPAM" Button into his e-mail account. I don't know AOL e-mail works.

Right now i don't think, that this is a vb problem. I'll keep an eye on it.

I recently had my mail blocked by AOL as well. Getting an answer as to why they block it is almost impossible. This is the link that comes back in the mail, it says either a person complained or that I generate too much mail. http://postmaster.info.AOL.com/errors/421dynt1.html The only mail we send is registration confirmation and mail that members request. I am looking now at possibly just banning all aol IP addresses as AOL has been so much trouble in the past and there lack of response to my questions leaves me with little concern about AOL as a service.

My thought is to post a notice before I put the hard ban in the firewall of the server and give members a week to read it and then cut AOHELL all together.

And before you ask no I am not on any spam list nor am I an open relay. This is the second time I have had this issue with AOHELL and have just had my fill of them.

Same here but didn't start since I moved from phpbb to vb.

Anyhow, I just ban any new registrations from AOL. Sucks but I'm tired of getting returned email from them.

Some users are too lazy to follow the proper way to unsubscribe from mail lists and simply click the 'spam button' to stop receiving email - it's users like this that make life harder for admins.
