    Upgrade

Would it be best for me to completely delete my vbulletin excluding the database and upload a fresh copy of 3.51 during my upgrade from 3.07?

I have many hacks that are not compatible with 3.51

There is no reason to completely delete your old forum directory unless you have clutter in there you want to clean out.

First you should turn off your forum, then:

    1) Duplicate the forum directory so you have a backup of the old files.

    2) Upload the new 3.5.x files to your live directory, overwriting the old files. Note that you don't have to upload the ./images directory or the ./install/install.php file.

    3) Copy and paste the MySQL information from your ./includes/config.php to the new 3.5.x ./includes/config.php file (it uses a different format). Upload the new file for 3.5.x.

    4) Repair and backup your database.

    5) Run ./install/upgrade.php.
