Contact Us Verification - Image DOES NOT appear for Guests.

    RE: Contact Us Verification
    • This setting controls whether or not guests (unregistered users, or users who are not logged in) are allowed to send feedback using the Contact Us page.
    • If you decide to allow this access for guests then you may wish to enable image verification to prevent bots from using the form. This will prevent possible spam in your inbox. The image verification will only be used for guests who use the form.
i have verified all settings to be correct to the best of my understanding. screenshots of AdminCP settings attached. when i log out of my forums and use the contact us page, i do not see any type of image verification. please advise.

Are you using sendmessage.php? If so, what is the URL to your forums?

yes, i am using the following...

http://forums.myforum.com/sendmessage.php ; note that the forums are currently turned off while i am building them. this new site is my demo/test site until i can finish them and close/transfer my other registered domain.

Your board is closed. Also you need to use just:

          sendmessage.php

          Not the entire URL.

Utw-mephisto, please start your own thread.

i know... but i have verified that it does not appear even when the board is open. i will turn the forums ON today for verification. also, i have attached a current screenshot of the Contact Us screen when i was logged out (ie: Guest). no image appears.

i am using the default "sendmessage.php" - i just wrote out the whole string to my domain because you asked for it. see attachment for verification. and please advise further.

What was the solution to this as I'm having the same problem? I checked the bug list but couldn't find anything.

                  You need to set this:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details -> Allow Unregistered Users to use 'Contact Us' -> Yes, but Verify Image

I already tried that. It's obviously a bug and I'll open up a ticket.
