    vB Logging Users Out

Immediately after upgrading to VB 3.5, we now have a problem with users being persistently logged out. It's really brought the forum to a standstill.

I've checked this thread, which seems to deal with this issue:

    http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/bugs35.php?do=view&bugid=1258

and have altered class_core.php as suggested, but no success.

    Please help!

That bug is for 3.5.0RC3. I assume you are running the gold release?

Are you having the problem yourself? Can you give me a URL to your forum and instructions on how to reproduce the problem?

          Here's the solution

If you have translagted your board to a second language, the problem will is in the second language. Have a look at this, this is what you need to fix in your translated language...

Hello, I have problem with vb 3.5.0 RC2. When I sign out from the forum .. the two links appears: All cookies cleared! * Return to the page you were previously viewing * Go to forums index But,when I click on those links .. they are being: http:// www. domain .com/forum/$url http:// www. domain

 That which is obvious, needs no introduction.

The problem is neither with sign in/out but simply with all users being logged out after the browser has been closed.
I tried various settings for cookies already....

That is normal if their cookie is not set to "Remember Me."

So I'm not the only one with this problem... Huh

Maybe I miss something here but how do you fix this?

                Thank you

We are experiencing similar problems, only difference is that our users are having problems even logging back in. See user reports at http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=154414

It has been a problem for me too (we are on gold) and have found that it is defintely tied to the "Remember Me" checkbox. In previous versions - Remember Me was checked by default. In 3.5 - it is unchecked by default.

Logging out, and then logging back in and making sure it is checked when they do so - has resolved our problems I believe. Trouble is - we had to discover it and convince/remind members to check that box they had never had to check before.

                      It is browser related.

Firefox 1.5beta2 does not seem to be able to save those cookies!
                      IE6sp1 and opera8.5 work

I don't have an answer for everyone right now. I am asking the others about this since there are so many reports of problems. I will post here if I hear anything.

Except for that bug in RC3, I am not aware of any other problems with 3.5's cookie / session system, so I am inclined to say this is a problem on the client side. Cookies don't always play nice. Many cookie problems can be fixed on the client side by clearing your cookies.

Yes, Gold. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce the problem at all, which is very annoying. I'm using FireFox, but even when I'm running IE I don't have a problem.

I know for a fact that at least one of the users experiencing problems is on AOL. Other than that, I'm really in the dark... www.litopia.com

Getting reports of the same on my board.

Users are clicking links and being asked to log back in.

I have started a thread to gather data on browsers and get an overview of this issue. I am running Gold.

Worst thing is, we can't open a bug because I can't supply a path to replicate it.
