Upgraded to 3.5, now forum slows down...

So after a few hiccups in upgrading, I managed to do a clean upgrade and all was working fine on the forum for the last 6 hours until suddenly, the busiest forum on the site sort of pauses before loading the forumdisplay page....

if you click on the forum General Yakkity Yak from the forum index, you notice that the forum sort of pauses before loading the page in entirety but no other forum on the site does this....

The strange part is.... the post count has not suddenly increased since last night and the forum ran flawlessly on 3.09 and ran very well for 6 hours after upgrading to 3.5

But now this stutter in loading is really beginning to bother me. Any ideas ?

that's really odd Steve, 4 other moderators have confirmed that GYY fourm is freezing momentarily before loading.... did you happen to compare the load with another forum ?

I tried several forums. No difference. They all loaded within 3 seconds.

they were near insant before, I mean click and go ... less than 0.4 seconds (if that) with 3.09

is there anything you recommend I do / tweak to change it ?

It could be your style. Create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

I did create a default template as you suggested and it performs just like that.... i.e. slows down when I enter GYY

I have enabed Datastore caching and set the Thread / Forum Read Marking Type to Database (Automatic Marking)

Sorry, it must be a server or ISP issue then.

we're on a dedicated 3 GHZ server with a gig of ram on Superbs DC out of VA.... you can actually snag stuff at 8 MBit / Sec (I have)

so I know its not an ISP issue (cause I have 2 flawlessly performing servers with them)
