Still getting Error msg when deleting a post inside a thread..

When i delete a thread it don't happen, just when deleting a post inside a thread..

Error:

Invalid Post specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator

No hacks, default templates and new default style...

Joe, you seem to be having a lot of problems with 3.5 that are not occuring for the vast majority of people. Was this an upgrade from an earlier version of vB or a fresh install. Which beta version are you currently running?

Joe,just wondering if you have the same or similar problem as i had.

After upgrading to beta 4 all new posts were put into "Posts Awaiting Moderation".

If this is happening on your board it may explain why you can't delete them,because they haven't been moderated yet.Hence the invalid post error.

Steve's fix solved the problem for me.

Rebuild bitfields.
> admincp/index.php?do=buildbitfields

Rebuild usergroup cache.
> modify a single usergroup and just click save button

It was an import from phpBB 2.x to vB version 3.0.7,
Then we decided to go with 3.5.0 beta,

Thats what it is supposed to do.

Now modify a usergroup.

You don't have to alter any of the settings just scroll to the bottom and hit the Update button. (only need to do it for one usergroup,not all of them)

I am not getting any of those options.. Just Quick Administrator Links , and vBulletin Developers & Contributors

Yep that is the correct screen. Now you have to reload your admincp/index.php (without the ?do=buildbitfields) to get your full admin cp.

Ok, did that, went to usergroup manager, clicked one to edit and hit update..

Still get the same error when deleting a post...

If i make a post using quick reply, i can delete it and i dont get the error..
It only does it when i use the post reply button ??? Strange

Not sure if this helps, but it only happens if i make a reply to a post using the Blue post reply button, and then try and delete the post.

When replying using the quick reply, i can delete it without error.

I can also delete anyone else's posts.

Have you modified the newreply template? (i dont know...maybe modifying it can screw it up if you do it wrong?)

When you use the Post Reply button method,have you tried refreshing the page first before trying to delete it?

I just gave it a try, and still get the error..

It is just so strange that i can reply using quick reply, and delete it without error, but i get the error when i use the normal Post reply button up top..

The post reply template hasnt been altered in any way at all..
This is all so trivial...

Sorry Joe,can't think of anything else.

Hopefully some other members can offer a possible solution.

Maybe you can post it in the Bugs forum where you might get more feedback.
