Session URL question

I've always been curious as to why when I visit some forums you get the session url on links. It doesn't do it here, whether I'm logged in or not logged in.

Can someone tell me what triggers session url?

Perhaps whether cookies are on or off? But I could've sworn that Jelsoft stated all sessions in the url have been removed...

Yeah I thought it might be cookies but even if I turn them off here, I dont get session urls. Ill go find some forums where it happens.

The sessionhash appears if you are not able to accept cookies.

I now know why it wasnt happening here even if I blocked cookies. It's because I had existing cookies. Once I deleted them, I got the session urls.
